So today was a long day.
The guys, it seems, got a LOT done. The basement got wired, the water line to my refrigerator got run, and Lance got covered in cobwebs. :) It seems there's a boulder in my basement and I may have to call Animal Control at some point because there's also a foxhole in my basement.
Lance is currently telling his parents about the cat situation. There are three that I know of. One is all black, one is a Russian Blue, and and one is a Tuxedo kitty. Wanna adopt one. *cuddles the kittycats* One of them left prints ALL OVER Lance's car the other night--across the hood, up the windshield, over the roof, down the back window, across the trunk, down the bumper...and not really in any particular pattern. Anyway, these cats aren't really anybody's but I suspect they'll be mine after I get rid of some of the tuna in the pantry. Because I sure as hell don't want to eat it.
Mom and I made tamales today. Really good. Pretty easy. But an unholy MESS, and talk about time consuming! But worth it, I think, if we could spread it out over two days or so. They're supposed to be steamed after you put them together, and we filled Mom's steamer with about three dozen of them. We didn't feel like assembling more, I spread the rest of the dough in a baking dish, then put as much of the filling as I could fit in the baking dish, and I've STILL got a big tub full of shredded pork and chicken in my refrigerator. That will be good on salads or in rice or something. OOOH, I know...I'll make spaghetti or something.
Bah, my world revolves around food. No wonder I can't lose these last 15 pounds.
