Dear People at Ross Laboratories:

I have noticed that every bottle of Pedialyte I buy indicates it must be used in 48 hours or thrown away. As my son cannot/will not finish a bottle of Pedialyte in 48 hours without me physically pouring it in his mouth, please consider creating a mix version that does not expire so quickly after opening. If this product already exists, please consider sending some to the stores in the Greater Kansas City area, because the boneheads currently do not carry it.

kthx,
wildirishrose80

I think that Pedialyte comes in a powdered form that is relatively new.

When I am at the grocery store later on, today ~ I will look for some for A.

Thank you! You really don't need to bother...but I will gladly pay you back if you find it!

I called my dad, who works for Ross Laboratories, and he says that Pedialyte does not come in a powdered form, but you do not really have to throw it away after 48 hours. They have to put that on the container due to FDA regulations and such. As long as you are putting it in another container when you give it to him, the bottle is good for over a week.

Dad also suggested you look into the Pedialyte freezer pops, and you can use the bottles of Pedialyte to make your own popsicles if A will do popsicles. This will also extend the storage life of Pedialyte. Hope this helps. I can give you dad's phone number if you want to ask him anything else about it directly.

hey, thanks to you and your dad for your input...it's a little frustrating to constantly have to buy it when he only goes through half of it before he's better.

A does not seem to be a fan of frozen things (I don't understand!) but someday he will be.
